Online efficiency optimization of IPMSM for electric vehicles

<span>This paper presents an online efficiency optimization method for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive system in electric vehicle (EV). The proposed considers accurately total losses including fundamental copper and iron losses, harmonic loss, inverter losses. Therefore, it has capability to always guarantee maximum control. A highly trusted machine model is built using finite element analysis (FEA). This magnetic saturation, spatial harmonics, loss effect. overall estimated based on accurate determination of then optimum current angle defined per ampere (MEPA) series results conducted show effectiveness fidelity method. superior performance over conventional offline methods.</span>
